I bought this back in Feb 10 so we would have something to entertain the kids til our stuff got here when we moved. This is now used in our spare bedroom as a TV/ Computer monitor. Wasn't sure if it would be a good deal or not with all the bad reviews BUT when you actually read most of the complaints people need to realize what they have. A 19" LED TV for under 0. I will say it again a 19" LED TV for under 0.

Here are my views on everyone's gripes
1. Menu keeps popping up. Yes mine does this. They have the sensor to close the the screen so when you get bright pictures or the sun hits it it comes up annoying yes a little but it was 0.

2. Sound quality bad. I don't know how most people are getting their channels but i have mine going straight from cable outlet. Sound is GREAT i rarely have it above 2 even my digital channels sound good.

3. Slow channel changes. I don't know what type of TV's everyone has but i have a 40" Sony and a 46" Samsung both are LCD's bought within the last 2 1/2 years. Both setup through cable box with HDMI cable and BOTH take a couple seconds to change channels. I Have a CRT that you can roll right through the channels but when i am watching on any other TV i do what they say Adapt and over come. Just a reminder in case you have forgotten 0 TV.

I have tried the DVR function which is pretty neat for a 0 TV Without a DVR cable box/ satellite box. It is a little choppy every couple seconds but i cannot complain BECAUSE I PAID 0. I understand 0 is 0. I am not rich by any means but i do know that you get what you pay for. You cannot expect a 0 tv to work like a 00 tv. This thing is picking up all the digital channels as well as my basic cable channels. Needless to say the digital are a lot better quality. I love the picture quality. I have this running on a 1500Va battery backup, during our last power outage run time said 87 Mins 15 mins later it said 87 mins left. Nothing else was plugged into the battery side just the TV. If you are still reading this review just remember to take all reviews with a grain of salt. like another reviewer said you expect the space shuttle from 0.

I have owned this set a 52244 for 2 months and except for the poor speakers its the best tv for the money I have found.
I see that music man has it in for Mits so dont listen to his reviews as they are very wrong (he wrote 11 bad reviews for Mits and you know he does not own them and just is bad mouthing them)

I got this TV at a great price and I am very happy with my purchase. This is my first HDTV and from what I can tell the picture is great. The sound from it won't be suitable for people into home theater, but those people should get a home theater surround system anyway. I mainly watch sports on it and it has worked great for the NHL playoffs this season!

Picture is great even without HD. Use S-Video from cable box to TV for a REALLY NICE picture if you don't have HD. I am satisfied with the set, but it has 2 issues (not deal breakers, though). First, the sound is poor. I can hear it fine, but it doesn't knock my socks off. I expected to need to add speakers anyway. A lot of these LCDs, regardless of price, have poor sound. Second, no matter how you connect your PC to this thing the resolution doesn't accomodate the screen. In other words, it's not displaying a true 1920 x 1080 resolution. Text looks horrible through HDMI but GREAT through VGA. It's the opposite through VGA where TEXT looks great and video quality is poor. I'll suck it up because everything else about the LCD is FANTASTIC. I'll switch to HD cable when we move this spring.

There was, and still is, something about the picture that made me chose this unit. Nothing was too dark or oversaturated. I like the simple design. The remote is small and simple, but it has a great selection of quick buttons (ClosedCaption, Picture presets and such). The TV that this unit is replacing is a 27 inch flat panel brick, also by SHARP. That set still works great. I wanted it to give me reason to get a new one but it still works as well as it did when I bought it 8 years ago.

I got this TV a few months back, when it was priced lower. Would still buy it at the current price.
The TV itself is a great value, ALL METAL construction, everything is cast aluminum and glass. Just the back panel is plastic! Picture is great, though only 420p, and perfect for a bedroom. Only complaint is that my Tivo remote does not work on it, so there are two remotes in my bedroom. So that said, if you are on the fence about this TV, I like it and it is a good buy compared to a lot others.

I bought this TV during the Thanksgiving day sale...for a total of 73 including the Blue Ray player, delivery and setup. To this day, I have not seen a better deal on this combo. The delivery and setup was impeccable.

This is my first LCD TV and did a lot of research. Finally, it was between a Samsung and Sony. The two things that tipped in favor of the Sony was the matte finish screen and the sound quality (that I tested at my local Best Buy). We have a very bright living room and the matte finish makes a difference.

I was not too thrilled with the sound. While it was better than the Samsung, at higher volume I could hear the speakers jarring. So, finally I bought a Sony Sound Bar to get around the issue.Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Subwoofer - Black

Picture quality is excellent. I wondered if the 46" was going to be too big since my previous TV was a 27"...but it suited our living room perfectly. I love it's looks. However, I do wish it had a swivel stand. It would have made it easier when I had to reach around the back.

I did not have a wired internet connection to test the internet features. Just last week, I hooked up a wireless ethernet bridge Cisco-Linksys WET610N Wireless-N Bridge to finally start using the internet features. I am not too excited about the internet features...it works well, but there's not enough internet content that I like.

Overall, a great TV.

I did a lot of research before buying and, for its price range, this TV seemed like the best bang for the buck. When I finally took the plunge it initially looked like I had made a horrible mistake. Right out of the box, the picture was truly horrible. After quickly using a reference disk with calibration patterns to tune the TV, an amazing transformation took place. The picture was absolutely gorgeous!

I've now had this TV for several months, and can honestly say it's been a great purchase. Perhaps the most noteworthy strength is how vivid the colors are. Really, it's virtually impossible to overstate how beautifully and powerfully colors appear on screen. Put "Toy Story" in your DVD player and put it on the screen of this baby and your jaw will hit the floor.

This TV has really turned up the entertainment level of our home! We replaced an aging 27-inch analog television with this for "over-the-air" television broadcasts. A few months ago, we kicked our monthly Dish Network subscription to the curb by purchasing Dish Network's DTVPal DVR. We currently connect the DVR to the LG 42LH50 using an HDMI cable, but we can also connect with the multitude of other options listed in the product description.

The remote for the LG has functions that can not be duplicated on most Universal Remotes, and the LG remote is not a Universal Remote for controlling other devices. That's a shame. Now I *must* keep at least two (2) remotes out at all times: One for the device I am using, and one to access the LG Netcast features. There seems to be no other way to activate the Netcast features other than using the supplied remote. If the LG remote gets lost or damaged, we are S.O.L.

Pros:
Intelligent Sensor Mode LG's Smart Energy Saving Technology (when enabled) will reduce the screen brightness if you watch it in a dark room or increase the brightness if you watch it during the day with the sunlight shining in. Great feature if you can use it (see "cons" below).

Several aspect ratios to pick from, from Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Cinema 1-6, etc. Taylor any video to fit the way you want or leave it on the Auto setting.

Never have to watch some stale old program on TV again with shows from your Netflix account's Instant queue, when it works (see "cons" below).

Plug in external USB drive into side port to watch movies you've burned (only tested with VOB, WMV and mpeg). As soon as drive is inserted, a menu pops up on screen asking if you want to view photos, listen to music or play movies. Very easy!

Input Source selection is very nice! Press the Input selector and input sources that are currently powered on and available show up first. Other input selections are still there, but they are grayed out - usually (see "cons" below).

Vudu "Pay Per View" and free movie trailers are a nice touch.

Cons:
Intelligent Sensor Mode: LG's Smart Energy Saving Technology interferes with DTVPal DVR remote (may affect others). Disable Energy Saving Technology in LG menu fixed this problem.

Netflix is not always able to retrieve titles from our Instant Queue through our network connection. Sometimes, we can "auto reset" the Network's IP settings, sometimes we can surf out to You Tube, then go back to Netflix - and it works! I don't know what the problem is. Anyone have an idea?

Netflix, part 2: Netflix movies have to be loaded into your "Instant" queue first, or you will see no movies available. To do this, you must go to Netflix on your PC and add movies to your Instant queue.

You Tube: There isn't an organized method of locating information on You Tube or adding something to a queue (that I've found). You are limited to what someone has named their videos.

LG Inputs: We have our DVD player connected on HDMI2. If we turn on the LG 42LH50 *after* having watched a show on the DVD player and the DVD player is off, the video input selector seems to be buried 10 items deep. I would find it more convenient if the video input would default to the first available when input sources are not available.

Yahoo! Widgets: These appear to be useless as far as I can tell. The Yahoo! Videos are only for previews (there are only about 10 to scroll through), Yahoo! Weather just shows sunshine or a rain cloud along with the temperature (I can tell this by walking outside), etc. I'd like to replace the Yahoo! Widgets with a radar loop from [...]! That would actually be useful!

Vudu: Vudu accounts have to be secured with your credit card and are - , depending on popularity and quality (SD, HD, HDx). I can't link my Vudu account to a credit card because there is no way to stop the baby sitter from racking up a 0 bill while my wife and I go to dinner.

Closed Captions: The LG tuner supports closed captions, but the captions option seems to be grayed out (unavailable) unless the input is set to the TV source. Our Dish Network DVR on HDMI1 can be set to display captions, but the LG will not display captions from it. There seems to be no way to display captions for any of the Netcast features either.

In summary: I like this TV because of all the Internet capabilities it brings to the table that other televisions do not offer. As the Devil's Advocate, I will admit that if I had a Media PC plugged into the back of this device, I probably would not need these features. A Media PC would be a more complete solution, but this is good for what it does.

I got this free with the purchase of an LG Tv. It does exactly what is says, broadcasts HD without wires. I have it hooked up in my living room to my main cable box via an HDMI splitter and the TV is in my bedroom. The signal does transmit through the wall with out much trouble and the picture is normally perfect. I had some troubles after I mounted the wireless receiver to the back of the TV. LG reccommends the placement but you may want to play around with it before settling on a spot. I moved it a couple inches and now the signal seems to be coming in fine. I did have to get another remote from my cable company for their box, the LG remote wont work with it throught the wireless media kit, te cable remote does just fine. Over all I am really happy with this unit, especially since it was free!

This is a very nicely built television.

Plenty of hookups, which were easy to reach.

The Anyconnect (which allows one device to control another like Sony's Bravia, but for Samsung) works well. It's nothing super, but it works.

You can save favorite channels, easily and quickly switch to other inputs, play mp3s and jpgs via USB, ... ya know, all that stuff that you expect from a very nice TV. It's not going to surprise you much. The video didn't need any adjustment for me, out of the box, but there were a lot of options for tweaking it.

Audio was average, not impressive, but I'm used to a nice surround system (which I promptly hooked up). One reason Anyconnect is nice is that I can have the TV output over the surround sound (an Anyconnect system) very easily.

Oh, and the dang stand swivels. It's a heavy-ish stand, too. Another commenter had a problem 'drilling' the stand, but I found this wasn't an issue. I found the build quality to be the best I've ever seen on a TV.

The picture, though, of course, is what matters most. And this TV has an amazing picture. Clear and beautiful. The colors stand out, the contrast is strong, the blacks look black.

The statistic that is weak on this TV is its slow refresh rate (the 60hz). I actually prefer this TV over ones that have a higher refresh rate. Movies look more like the cinema this way. In fact, many movies are shown in theater at merely 24 hz. Have you ever noticed that a movie or TV show looks subtly like a camcorder, behind the scenes tape, or a Soup Opera? This effect is often the result of a high refresh rate, and it reduces the mental blur from frame to frame. I suspect newer TVs actually let you reduce the refresh rate, because many find a high refresh to be less appealing. But this way I get a cheaper TV that I think actually looks much better. Before you spend hundreds more on a 2D set with extremely high refresh rate, test it out and see what you like better. Make sure the media actually supports the high refresh rate. You may find this cheaper set is as good, or perhaps better if you're like me.

I found no flaws with this TV whatsoever. It's amazing that such a large and beautiful TV, from what many consider the best brand, is so affordable.

I've had this TV for a year and cannot complain about anything as far as the picture quality is concerned. It is incredible. The dynamic adjustments to the contrast are seamless. I also have a Samsung Blu-Ray player so I take advantage of the AnyNet technology. Using HDMI connections makes a big difference over the Component Video -- the detail is outstanding. The 120 hz motion can sometimes be too much at the high settings (I keep it low) since it tends to show you movement you don't see with the naked eye. (It can make you a little dizzy so I cannot imagine why anyone would want or need the newer 240 hz technology). Even old black & white movies are beautiful on this TV. I also have connect a PC via the DVI and a laptop with HDMI with extremely good results. There are no dead pixels anywhere.

The sound is good considering the size of the built-speakers but I run it through a Yamaha 5.1 channel AV receiver which of course, makes it more than realistic clarity.

Not too many complaints here --- I wish the remote control was programmable but its not (neither is the remote for the Blu-Ray). For wireless LAN, you have to use the Samsung adapter which is no longer available but the Ethernet is fine. Since I have the wireless adapter for the Blu-Ray, I can get most web content from it rather than the TV.

And oh, yes, I bought a re-certified set which saved me a bunch.

I'm only going to comment on the rear connections. Only one set of component in, which is fine because anyone who wants to use this great TV, should have updated equipment. But my cablebox ONLY has component, so I can't use any other outdated systems...everything else must be HDMI to take advantage of TV. Since this is a bedroom tv, not a big deal.

Next...audio quality is poor. Which is fine because most ppl who have a nice TV will support it with extra speakers. I bought the TVee Soundbar because it's simple and doesn't need a receiver. Well...the TV only has ONE audio out. and it's a digital (Toslink) audio out. Website says TWO audio out. I guess they're counting the headphone jack. Looks like panasonic got a little lazy and didn't bother to include support for older devices. Now I'm up a creek because I'll either need to buy a toslink to rca converter or take the dive and get a receiver....but who the heck has a receiver in the bedroom?!
