After over a month of research, I finally decided to Toshiba 55" for my small home. I wanted a TV that met the following criteria:

:::: No Internet Connectivty
I prefer my TV and Internet connected device to be separate. And here's why-
-- Virus, Anti-Spam issues: I don't want to install anti-virus and anti-spy software on my TV.
-- Upgrade: There is always a new version of the software (like Flash, SilverLight, etc) being released and its difficult to keep upgrading to new s/w to view channels
-- Performance: Every new version consumes more CPU/Memory and eventually it will slow down my TV's rendering capability too. Think about it, we change our laptops every 3 to 4 years, not because the display doesn't work. It's basically because the computer has gone slower.
-- Refresh cycle: Most TVs last 10-15 yrs, by making them software driven, companies are trying to force us to refresh TVs every 4 yrs, just like PC.


:::: Full LED Backlit
Full LED backlit provides consistent lighting across the screen. EdgeLit might be thinner, but will not offer even back lighting for such large size.


:::: Thin Panel
Wide Panel makes the TV big, but offers no real value.

:::: Connector accessibility
I was looking for TV that provided HDMI, D-Sub connectors near the edge of the TV so that it's to connect even after wall mounting it.


:::: At least one year old model
Hoping that after a year, the manufacturer would have resolved design/product issues.

:::: Amongst top 5 in picture & audio quality


I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Pros:
+ excellent connectivity
all connectors are pretty close to the edge of the TV, so I had no issues attaching cables after wall mounting my TV.

+ awesome picture quality.
didn't notice any blurring or other issues because of local dimming. Good contrast with deep blacks.

+ nice sound
definitely not the best in the industry, but still good enough.

+ edge to edge glass panel
complete glass panel makes the TV look beautiful even when turned off. The glass is glossy and attracts finger impressions, but still not bad, as I don't touch so often.

+ HDMI 1 or D-Sub with stereo audio
I connect my PC video (via DVI-HDMI adapter or D-Sub) and audio (standard audio out) and enjoy movie.

Cons:
- no surround sound speaker
would have preferred them.


Overall.... totally worth the money.

This was a good purchase for the price.
It was a daily deal and was fairly priced.
The soundbar really brings out the audio.
Turn up the bass and the floor will vibrate when Miami Vice reruns are on.
Only problem is with the tv remote.
It is sort of flakey and gets stuck on channel 23.
Seems strange, but I got nothing better to do than cuss and punch buttons.

The delivery was full service. It was unpacked and set up by the delivery dude.

Separate remote for the soundbar.
It has a plug-in for an I-Pod.
You can play yourine I-Tunes on this.
The remote has controls for track selection and so on.

Pros:
+ Picture Quality - I have this hooked up to a bluray and it looks great. I'd say the black levels are slightly above average for televisions in this price range.
+ Inputs - I like the 3 HDMI, and PC input in particular (it also has 2 component). I've hooked my computer up to it via HDMI and love the extra screen real-estate that it gives me being 1080p
Cons:
- It takes a bit to "warm" up when first turning it on. An image starts to appear within 5 seconds and it gradually increases in brightness, this is kind of annoying.
- Viewing angle: this isn't huge but other LCDs do better. You can see from any angle, but there is a noticeable difference in brightness and visibility the larger the angle gets from the TV.
- Price : Just on the tad expensive size for what you get.

Comparing this to a cheaper 32 inch Element that we have in the house this one out performs it just about every way (but it's also about 0 more expensive). The sound isn't anything to boast about but it will do for TV speakers. Changing channels on an Off-the-air signal is a little slow, but not any worse then the Element. The black levels are far better on this comparatively as well as the colors it produces. Menu's offer quite a bit of customization.
If you can find this TV for less than 0 then you'd have yourself an amazing deal, otherwise it's just an average TV for the price.

So I hadh been looking for a new tv sincee October 2009 and originally I had an idea for a 32 in at around 500. I did a lot of research on LCD tv's and finally decided to push it up to 37 in at 800. I had foudn some models I had liked but the minute I saw the LN37B650 I fell in love. The design is nice and the picture quality is superb for a Non-LED LCD tv. Though it is kind of pricey, it is well worth it. Ive had my tv for about a month now and the picture quality is amazing even at the beginning when you use the factory settings. Blu Ray's look so amazing and my Band of Brothers Blu Ray series actually almost pops out of the screen! I use my tv mainly for my PS3 and games look amazing. You might need to adjust the judder settings if you feel they might be blurring the picture a little too much for your taste during games or sport events because it does create a halo around moving objects(this is a problem with most LCD tvs). Ive never felt so satisfied at buying something and I've never felt like I actually got moneys worth until i got this TV. If youre looking for a Tv with great picture and great versatility in adjusting the settings then this is the tv to get. Friends and famliy who see my tv can't believe how great this tv looks and they all have nice tvs as well. So again, if youre looking for a tv with amazing picture quality and youre gunna be using a blu ray player or ps3 or xbox 360, ETC then you should definitely buy this tv!!!

I really like this little tv--I use it in the bathroom when I'm getting ready in the morning. It is a perfect size and gets a fabulously clear picture.

The main complaint I have is that it really goes through batteries. I kept thinking it wasn't working correctly because I would get about three days worth of life out of batteries (we're talking a total of MAYBE 1 hour viewing time each day) and then my picture would get all fuzzy. I couldn't believe the problem could be in the batteries because I had just replaced them. But, alas, when I changed the batteries, everything worked fine.

I finally broke down and bought rechargeable batteries, and I am much happier now. You should definitely get some if you decide to get this tv.
